Let’s be honest, the thought of ‘family photos’ can sometimes bring up images of forced smiles and uncomfortable stances. But here’s the most important thing to know about working with me (and maybe I should say it more often!): a documentary family session is all about saying goodbye to awkward poses and finally enjoying the process. I’m here to capture the real stuff: the little things you’ll cherish forever, the moments unfolding naturally in your home that you might not even realise are so precious right now.
As a documentary family photographer and a mum of two (a spirited ten-year-old and a whirlwind of a two-and-a-half-year-old, so I get it!), I specialise in capturing both the quiet cuddles and the joyful chaos that make up the beautiful reality of family life.
Forget stiff poses and forced smiles. Whether we’re documenting the everyday magic unfolding within the walls of your Dublin home or exploring your family’s favourite outdoor adventures, my approach is all about helping you freeze these precious moments in a way that feels completely effortless and authentically you.
So, what does a relaxed, unposed family photoshoot actually look like?
Let’s take a peek at a summer family session right here in Dublin to give you a better idea…
I have photographed this family 4 times now: for a maternity session, a newborn session, and two documentary family sessions.
They all took place at home, or their local (favourite) park.
During their sessions, they’ve:
- Made breakfast
- Ate their breakfast
- Danced in the kitchen
- Drank lots of cups of tea
- Played with the mud kitchen
- Chased flying ants
- Gone for a lovely autumnal walk
- Collected pine cones
- Played with leaves
- Drank more tea
- Fed the cats
- Played monopoly
- Looked at photo albums
- Got dressed
- Did their hair
- Gave a bottle
- Showed some loom bands making
These are examples of what a family may do at the weekend together. Your activities may look different and they’re all valid and interesting to photograph, because they’re yours.

Your kids are hilarious, unapologetic and free-spirited, and I want to capture their magic, just as they are.
I work with parents who want to preserve more than just how life looks and create time capsules of every season of their kids’ childhood.
Based in Dublin, travelling across Ireland, I’m here to capture the real, the messy, the wonderful moments that make your family unique.
