Ten years ago, I ordered a new 1TB hard drive online, thinking I had just solved all my photo storage problems. My daughter had just been born, and I was determined to create beautiful photo albums of her childhood, just like the ones my parents made for me.
How naive I was.
What followed was a journey that many of you will recognise: phones full of photos, a growing collection of hard drives, and that constant worry about losing precious memories. As a parent with a camera (or three), I felt overwhelmed by the pressure to capture everything, organise everything, share with family members and print the best. Those yearly photo books I dreamed of making? They joined the endless list of “someday” projects.
That’s why I’m excited to announce my upcoming masterclass: “From Camera to Paper”: a practical approach to managing your family photos that I’ve developed over five years of trying different things and finally finding what works.

This isn’t about catching up, it’s about moving forward
Here’s what took me years to accept: you can’t catch up with your backlog overnight, and that’s completely okay. You don’t need another perfect system that looks great on paper but falls apart in real life.
You need a workflow that fits with being a parent photographer: multiple cameras, not much time, and a real desire to preserve memories without feeling stressed about it all the time.
What makes this masterclass different?
In this live session, I’ll share the exact workflow I use today, one that took 5 years to create (and another 5 years of thinking before that). But more importantly, I’ll help you:
- Create a simple day-to-day system that actually works with your busy life
- Set up a backup plan that helps you stop worrying about losing photos
- Set realistic short-term goals while keeping your bigger dreams in mind
- Feel good about your current photo situation (yes, it’s possible!)
- Start getting those photos off your devices and into albums and prints
Who needs this?
This masterclass is for you if:
- You’re a professional photographer (or seasoned amateur) who use Lightroom and want a better system for family photos
- You’re trying to keep a better track of all your personal photos
- Your hard drives keep filling up, but you’re not printing many photos
- You want to make photo books but rarely do because of all the old photos you need to sort through
- You’re ready to let go of trying to be perfect and want a system that really works
A new perspective for a new generation
We’re the first generation of parents dealing with this much digital photo overload. Our parents didn’t have to figure out how to handle thousands of digital images. That’s why we’ll talk about mindset in this masterclass: we need to find new ways that work for us.
Join me on March 13th for a session that will change how you think about and handle your personal family photos. Together, we’ll turn that feeling of being overwhelmed into a simple, doable way of preserving your family’s memories.
P.S. If you’ve ever looked at your collection of hard drives and felt overwhelmed, know that there’s a better way. Let me show you how to move from overwhelm to peace, one simple step at a time.
P.S.2: I’m sharing the folder structure I use for my own personal photos here and you can steal it for free.
