Photographs can say “I love you” better than words
When was the last time you were photographed with your little one, just being a mum? No posing, no looking at the camera, no required smile?
Motherhood is a lot of things. A lot of it is beautiful and a lot of it isn’t. Some parts are very instinctive and some are so hard to figure out. We love to hold them close, but we want to take a shower by ourselves so bad. We laugh, we cry, we sigh, we dance and roll our eyes. We sing lullabies, massage little feet, carry in a sling, feed or rock to sleep.
Sometimes we feel like we could do better: we look a mess, our house isn’t tidy and we raised our voice today.
And then we see that photograph.
It was taken without us knowing. It takes us by surprise and makes our heart sing. That photograph encapsulates what we are to each other. It shows how much I love you and how much you need me.
Someone gifted me with that photograph recently. I’ll show it to you soon, but here is not the place. Trust me, the feeling is wonderful. Knowing that whatever happens, she’ll have this photograph showing how so very special she is to me.
And me? I’ll see this photograph on our wall every day, reminding me that I’m doing a great job.

The photos are fantastic. They just capture the interaction between myself and my daughter so well. They make me feel warm and fuzzy and will be treasured.
