Some of the most meaningful photographs your children will ever own

Grandparents + Grandchildren Photography.
While they’re still here. While your children are still this small.
One day, these photographs will mean everything.
Right now, it’s just a regular visit.
A cup of tea. A story being told. A small hand reaching for theirs.
The kind of moments that feel ordinary now, but won’t always be there.

Hi, I’m Johanna!
This is a photograph of my two children and me in 2024
Our life isn’t “picture-perfect”, and neither is our house. Because we’re humans! And our photographs reflect who we are and are precious for it.
I want my children to have a record of the everyday moments they will not remember: mundane, unique mementoes of family life with their loved ones.
Here is why I care

The first reason I care so much about this is that I’ve always treasured photographs with my own grandparents, even as a child.
And more importantly, I treasured the time we spent together, because it was special (and different) from the time spent with our parents.
And the second reason is that I have regrets…
My grandfather passed away in November 2016. I hadn’t seen him in person in over a year.
Here is one of the very last photographs I took of him, along with my grandmother and my daughter. Look at this small touch of his finger.
I often think of all the photographs I wish I had taken of him when it was still time. Photographs of him by himself. In his house. In his bee suit. In his beloved vegetable garden.
There is no way to go back in time, so there is no point torturing myself about it, but the lesson I learned from it drives me to make photographs of the older adults in my life and my clients’ lives.
Meaningful photographs that go beyond the surface and the “let’s all look at the camera and smile” portraits.

“You captured the love between my children and their grandparents: the small looks, the unbridled joy, the moments I didn’t even notice.
These photos already feel priceless, and I know they’ll only mean more as the years pass.”

Grandparents Grandchildren Photoshoot in Dublin, Ireland

Grandparents & family photos with no awkward poses or forced smiles.
Engaging in some kind of activity is the best way to forget about the camera. The key is to select activities that are genuine and part of a normal day, so it doesn’t feel contrived.
Then, you can relax, knowing I will capture great family photos no matter what AND take care of the printing side of things for you.
Yes, that’s my promise.
The images will be beautiful, professional and:
- Personal: unique to you and your family
- Genuine: nothing forced or scripted
- Fun: just be yourself and you may see your life through a different lens
“The images are fantastic, and it was such a relaxed experience.
Before the session, I was worried about the camera intruding on moments or us feeling pressure to perform for the camera.
Instead, we forgot you were there as a photographer, and we had a lovely family afternoon. You slotted in so well that it was as if you had always been part of the family.
There was no pressure to perform, behave or pose.”
