June 11th 2020.
After 3 months spent within 2kms then 5kms of our home, our world extended to 20kms and we made it to the beach for the first time.
Bulls Island, Dollymount, its birds and sand dunes.
It was dark, stormy and wet. It was beautiful.
It was so freeing and the sand was running at our feet.
Our daughter was running, so excited by all this space.
It was like I saw the sea for the first time. And the smell… that smell.
The grass had burnt down in places and it felt surreal.
We didn’t stay long, our ears were hurting. But we went home feeling like we conquered the world.
