When Anne contacted me last January for a maternity photo session, she mentioned that of all of her other babies were very important to her and she would love to include them. Big and small fury babies, including a special horse, two Great Danes and five cats.

A good job I love animals and am not afraid of dogs because those babies were taller than me.

Anne and Scott spent some time cuddling the dogs and cats while we chatted about the upcoming arrival of their twins. We only realised we were both French towards the end of the session. It looks like we both lost our French accent!

We later went outside to take Anne’s favourite horse into the paddock to show him off a bit. Anne wasn’t riding anymore, but you could see how she missed it.

I thought it was interesting how all the animals seem to be sensing the changes ahead and are attracted to Anne’s baby bump.

To finish off, Anne and Scott went to sit in their favourite spot in the house, which has a view over the mountains. The babies started to move while they chatted about the expected lack of sleep in the coming months.

For my 1-hour photo sessions, I recommend picking a few activities in advance that will encapsulate this time in your life. For this session, I did not ask them to stand in a certain place or act in a certain way.
