Did you know I also offer video for family and newborn photography sessions? I call them “Family Films” and some also call them “Stories in Motion”. We have all seen videographers at weddings, but I think it’s fairly new in Ireland to hire a professional videographer to capture normal everyday family life. Today, I’m sharing my latest family film and you might already know this family!
Last year, Sue and Cliona’s breastfeeding photo session was read all over the world and published on websites such as The Huffington Post and Parents Magazine. Later on, they were also interviewed by the Independent and on the Ray D’Arcy’s Show (August 2017).
In case you’re wondering, life for these mums is still (very) busy. Actually, let’s be honest: it’s mad! (They often joke that their lives are far from being as glamorous as these articles made them feel.)
Last November, I went to their home again to photograph and film their lives with their (almost) 2-year-old triplets and their 4-year-old daughter (Aoife was actually planning her birthday). A fairly quiet afternoon for them, especially as they had a good adult/toddler ratio on that day. Yet, every mum said they felt tired just watching the video (see for yourself below).
Most of these two mums’ days are spent trying to keep them from hurting themselves or killing one another (their words, not mine!). Yet, in the midst of the chaos and the exhaustion, I see so much LOVE!
When you’re caught in the middle of it all, you don’t get to see the beauty of your everyday life.
I couldn’t gift Sue and Cliona with a full night sleep and a date night, but I’m glad I was able to gift them with the power of pressing “pause” and see the love, laughs and fun that’s also a part of their crazy lives.
You’re doing awesome mamas! Your little ones are very lucky (and so cute!) X
