A month before welcoming baby #2, Monica, Cormac and Iris welcomed me into their home on a cosy winter evening so I could capture their life before they went from three to four. Expecting a new baby is always exciting and a bit scary at the same time, especially when you have a two-year-old at home who’s a little bit unsure whether she’s ready to be a big sister (actually rather not!).
After two years of having mama to herself during the day and dada taking care of her evening routine, her world is going to change. It might be hard, it might great, but whatever happens, she’ll always be able to have a peek into what her life looked like when she was a single child.
Mama’s funny girl!
Helping dada make bread (with sunglasses of course).
(Dada enjoys drizzly Irish weather best apparently!)
Dada’s been doing this since she was a baby… (Not sure if he’ll be able to do it for much longer.)
Daddy’s evening routine
Taking care of his little girl in the evening is Cormac’s fun part of the day. It involves a relaxed supper, a fun bath time, before drying her hair and giving her bottle while looking at the moon and the stars through her berdroom window.
(Sometimes it involves stickers too!)
You know what I love the most about this session? How real it is! Monica admitted not having time to tidy the house or put makeup on, and yet all I see is how beautiful she is. (My second favourite thing is obviously Iris’ rocking her sunglasses!)
Delivery day!
Here are a few cute photos of Monica and Iris discovering their album – and I couldn’t help but include baby Anouk.
In-Home Maternity/Family Sessions
No stress, no posing, no expectations: even daddies like this type of photo sessions :) If you still need to do some convincing, get him to check this ‘Behind the scenes’ video from another maternity session.
