Lewis is 5 and Joel is 2 and the first time I talked to her, Ciara said they just loved spending time with her two boys and explained how they were starting to interact and play more with each other. It clearly meant a lot to her to capture the feeling of this season in their lives, before they grew out of this special phase.
Ciara and Dan love being outside in nature watching the two brothers and Killiney Hill is one of their favourite places to go as a family.
After playing on swings and slides in the playground, they went for a walk through the forest. The boys know very well that at the end of the path, there is a very good chance they will get an ice-cream… On the way, they pick up sticks and hit the nettles with them. Lewis climbs trees and Joel just keeps on running.
I just love how they start relaxing after 45 minutes – 1 hour. Their personalities really show when it comes to sharing their ice-cream with daddy or asking mammy to buy cakes in the shop.
Here are some of my favourite of the day. Yes, I know, most of them include ice-creams – there is definitely a special alchemy happening between children and ice-cream :)
Dan said this photograph was always going to bring a smile to his face.
It takes a while to pick an ice-cream, doesn’t it? I don’t know about you, but I always end up wishing I picked something else, even though I’m enjoying it. Icecream paradox.
Ciara said this photograph really captured Lewis and his habit of asking for everything he sets his eyes on (CAKE!!)
What is Joel smiling at? Mammy? Or his ice-cream?
So so hard to share his ice-cream…
Especially when daddy takes a bigger bite than you expected. (I can totally relate as my husband always does it to me).
