Back in May, I stepped in front of the camera for a family session with Typhanie Piton. Typhanie is French and lives in Normandy but lived in Ireland for a few years and that’s where we met. She still misses Ireland and came for 4 days in Dublin to photograph a few couples and stayed at our house. On top of taking some documentary photos of myself and my daughter around the house (which I will have to share too, they’re amazing!), we did an outdoor photo session in one of our favourite place: the sand dunes of Bull Island.

Typhanie specialises in weddings and “Adventurers Portraits” so we even got to do a few couple portraits which was a treat. She managed to get some nice relaxed photos of us, which is rare nowadays! It was nice to put our couple first for 15 minutes, while our daughter played with sand right next to us.

I liked that she captured the adventurer’s side of our daughter, and I will also remember her stubbornness from that morning: she had been told we were going to the beach and wasn’t so happy to stop in the dunes for photographs. Typhanie had little games for her, but she kept going back to the path, walking ahead of us, not caring if we were following.

Anyway, I’m going to share some of my favourites below. Enjoy!
