The first two weeks following the birth of a baby are always very special. This is a time where parents are still in awe of what has just happened: they created that beautiful little being in front of them. They usually spend long minutes just looking at their sleeping baby, trying to take it all in before he/she grows and changes.

This is also a time of adjustment. Welcoming a new addition to the family isn’t always easy, especially for siblings. But whether they are doing their best to ignore the baby or covering him/her with kisses, it is worth capturing it, because it won’t last.

Sophie’s in-home newborn session wasn’t only about her, but about her big brothers, the house she was born in, the love in her parents’ eyes while they looked at her.

When they look at those images months and years from now, Margaret will be able to remember what it felt like to try and eat lunch with only one arm free. For Christoph, it might be the feeling of coming home with Yann on his bike and suddenly remembering that there was a baby girl to cuddle inside.

More importantly, those images will be one day so precious for Sophie.
